“Msale” is his signature on all of his works. Born in 1993, Musasia B. Wanyande attributes his love for painting and drawing to his mother who works as a preschool teacher. She was the first person to hand him a crayon to draw as he helped her in creation of her teaching materials since his early years.
As an artist, Msale works hard to develop works that speak both to himself and to others about the beauty that exists in the ruins of ancient societies. He does not merely want to capture the image with his brushes: rather with careful, colorful strokes, he wants to give that society life once more. Msale tries with every finished work to breathe life into a long forgotten culture so that its designs, ideas, innovations and lifestyle are displayed on the canvas. Msale’s artworks speak, not only for him but for people who were long ago silenced.
